Client Case Study - Smart Home Sounds
Smart Home Sounds
A client case study.
Smart home sounds is an innovative home audio retailer and the UK's leading Sonos Retailer. They came to us with, what looked like on the surface, a simple brief. They wanted a product unboxing video of their play 1 and play 5 Sonos products, to show what you get and how its looks in a natural setting. We have seen lots of unboxing videos online and knew what they meant. However as we got thinking about the project we decided to create something slick, visual and 'cinematic', if thats possible for an 'unboxing video'..
- Play 1 - Unboxing Video
- Play 5 Unboxing Video
What sounded simple instantly became a challenge. How to make, 'taking a speaker out of a box' cinematic and engaging with no dialogue. As always we explained that video is a direct reflection of a brands values and Smart Home Sounds knew exactly what we meant. We had to visualise themes of expertise, quality and efficiency whist maintaining the 'real' unboxing style.
We settled on using a stylish home location with studio lighting and shooting on our cinema cameras to give dynamic imagery to an otherwise flat subject matter. To complement the raw footage look, we added in some darker product shots with a dynamic bounce light to show of the beauty of the Sonos Products. Editing was minimal, and music complimented the meditative style of the production.
"Singularity turned our brief into a reality with ease, the whole process was streamlined and was a pleasure to work along side. Our brief was very loose and Singularity added so much more - the cinematic atmosphere, as Moss called it, was exactly what we were looking for and compliments our brand perfectly. Pricing was extremely competitive and we will be using Singularity again"
